Taung Boy (Australopithecus Africanus)

Description

The Taung Child, discovered in South Africa in 1924 by Raymond Dart, corresponds to the facial skull, the mandible and the sedimented internal mold of the posterior part of the cranial vault that preserved the shape of the brain. He is thought to have died between the ages of 3 and 4, as the first permanent molars had barely erupted. It is located in the National Museum of Anthropology, in Mexico City.
